The vision behind: a platform for transformation
The Lila Vase is an embodied platform for transformation. It brings together my research on sustainable transformation, my artistic and performative practice, and my experience in bodywork. The aim of my approach is to create spaces where people can experience and participate in sustainable change.
Why the Lila Vase?
I have always been fascinated by spaces for sustainable gathering and learning. In my academic work, I explored their significance for sustainable transformation – and eventually realized that it is not enough to simply talk about change. What is needed are places where people can (re)discover themselves as creators – of their own lives, their communities, and the social structures we inhabit. This insight led, in 2022, to the creation of The Lila Vase: an interdisciplinary, experiential, and community-based space for transformation.
The Three Levels of Transformation
Sustainable transformation happens on multiple levels. At The Lila Vase, these levels come together.
Personal – Through bodywork, I support people to reconnect with their vitality, discover their self-efficacy, and bring their potential to life.
Collective – In workshops and community gatherings, I create experiential spaces where new forms of collaboration and mutual learning can emerge through resonance, creativity, and collective (un)learning. My approach here ist often art-based.
Societal – In my educational programs, I expand the discourse on transformation with artistic and body-based perspectives. Here, I share my research on alternative organizational models such as commoning and non-exchange-based circular economies, environmental psychology, and possible sustainable futures.
My philosophy
For me, sustainable transformation means creating pathways toward a world that is ecologically balanced, respects all forms of life, and is socially just. As a sustainability researcher and body therapist, I see transformation as an open process that requires constancy, curiosity, and the ability to acknowledge complexity while navigating the unknown. In my spaces, I focus on participation and what succeeds. My philosophy is inspiring, emancipatory, and empowering.
Space
The Lila Vase is based in a studio in Stuttgart West. In addition, I create experiential spaces for transformation at different locations, often in collaboration with a diverse range of partners.
